§ 41-14. Special sign districts.

  • Special sign districts may be created by the city council to provide an opportunity for a creative approach to signage which may not conform to all the conditions set forth in this chapter. Requirements that may be varied include area, setback, height, lighting, movement, flashing, placement, type, content, location, and construction materials. Approval of a special sign district may be recommended to the city council by the planning commission subject to the submission of alternative sign design criteria or architectural plans which illustrate all proposed signs that shall be created.
