§ 41-12. Maintenance.

  • (a)

    All signs for which a permit is required, together with their poles, supports, braces, guys, and anchors shall be kept in good repair; and when not galvanized or constructed of provided corrosion-resistant materials shall be painted when necessary to prevent deterioration. All painted signs shall be free from scaling and peeling paint.

    (b)

    It shall be the duty and the responsibility of the owner and lessee of every sign to maintain the immediate premises occupied by the sign in a clean, sanitary and safe condition.

    (c)

    It shall be the duty and responsibility of the owner and lessee of the premises upon which a sign has been erected to cause periodic inspections of said sign to ensure proper maintenance and safety thereof.

    (d)

    If a sign is illuminated, the source of each illumination shall be kept in a state of good working order at all times.

    (e)

    All written messages upon signs shall be kept in a readable state, with individual letters replaced (or the lighting of such letters replaced) if necessary.
